understanding sexual orientation

this article brings into account how sexual orientation is manifested within the individual psyche...when i see this article it takes me back to the discussion in class of groups and sub groups or culture and counter culture not that the article portrays heterosexuals as the norm but that is what society does the article out lines heterosexuals as one homosexuals as another and bisexual as another that falls in the middle of this spectrum/binary if you want to call it that...the article makes an argument that homosexuals are distinct in personality than heterosexuals that they go deeper in the process of finding a sexual partner because they must base their decision on different ideals not just the totality or the surface of that individual also how they look at different occupations and activities in a different way as well...this article made me look at sexuality differently and made me think the socialization process is different in the mind of a bisexual or homosexual individual...now this article could be criticed and said they are speaking from a position that shows a default in homosexuality from the lens of the dominate culture but it can also be said to show the understanding of difference between the socialization process between individuals and how they interact with the society they live in....is it deviance or just a way of living ??...this goes agaisnt what the video "tough guise" intails because it says all men are brought up this way and are socialized in a certain manner but even if this article is of the lens of the dominate norm it still shows that some men/woman...fall in another spectrum of dominance and act as a force to deconstruct these norms and procedures that may cause violence in our society i.e. hatred of gays, woman, non acceptance of "difference" and the over arching structure of patriarchy....(...)
