after reading this article it made me think of how a history of a certain group can change threw forms of assimilation, but also how early Jews and euro Americans went from living in one social stratification system to developing a place in a complete other that saw them differently...the article speaks about how they over came the label of immigrant and became embedded into american society ultimately becoming part of this culture being labeled "white"... this article highlights the power race plays in the stratification system because euro Americans like Jews and others got more help from social services and were able to move up in the social stratification system faster than black's/african Americans were this proves that their are forms of hidden institutional racism witch allows for the social stratitification system to remain the same i.e. rich being rich and poor being poor and limiting social mobility besides social services education witch can be labled as many things also played a huge role in the process of social mobility of jews...on a general note it plays a huge role of the process of mobility for alot of different people in society but yeah threw forms of aid/assistance and the process of education jews began to assimilate into the dominate american culture and became white folk...on a personal opinion i think jews are maybe the only ethnic group that diddnt have to fully assimilate into society to be accepted but thats debateable...(...)
